He figured it would be best to keep it contained as much as possible until it's patched and make sure none of the group bases and members would be hurt by nerds inc with the exploit. He knows that Mojang knows about this bug from Hypixel given how they were able to troll streamers. He would have personally reported it to mojang immediately if they'd had a bug bounty program.

The grief of the emperium end base happened without 0x's knowledge while he was offline, jared leaked it since it wasn't a mason base. 0x doesn't know if this end base was exploited or insided, his initial assumption was insided. 0x had forbidden Mason bases from being griefed. 0x didn't clear any echests or kill anyone to spawn. And no one did this to any masons (not even dark).

Nerds Inc don't care so much about griefing, they just want the data. They set some guidelines on what is and is not okay. Jared abides by this, but then says that he's thinking about breaching them and he's thinking about logging into Fit's account. This is Sunday. 0x logs into fits account quickly to get 3 screenshots to prove that it's real, then warns fit immediately to stash anything important from his echest. Jared did not actually ever log into Fit's account. Fit tells some members of the community, and this spreads to the whole shitstorm on Sunday night.

Scribble I'm not sure if you read the exploit 0x linked but essentially this exploit is the most trivial thing. When you send your session ID and username to the server to login, you literally just send someone else's username. And you get let into their account It's a trivial oversight and a bug from 2012 that was accidentally re exposed And it's literally the first thing a script kiddie would try It's a public bug that was a huge deal in 2012 when team avo found it, if someone just knew to take a hard look at how mojang's auth system works, its a virtual CERTAINTY that they would try old simple exploits, which in this case is Literally Just Changing Your Name. Just say you're someone else and the server will just accept it. So if it got out that there's any kind of auth exploit and this become common knowledge, it would almost definitely be exploited by skids the world over in a completely uncontrolled manner. Think about what the warning would be. It wouldn't cut it to say "don't log in" or "leave your base", both of which might imply a coord exploit. Saying to empty your echest and /kill to spawn... we're a smart bunch of guys there's nothing that can mean other than there's a bug in authentication. And if this warning is posted in here it would certainly spread. (edited)

Due to some confusion that was discussed later, if you didn't know this was initially discovered on macrochasm. This could not be revealed without giving away person A's identity but since I already did that it doesn't matter. A newfriend (ItsYoungDaddy aka bidbaggoy) discovers that they can use an offline name switcher to just get into macrochasm. Macrochasm is on legacy auth since its before release 1.7. Jared would know about this since he's server owner and can see that someone's on his account and on Notch, but ItsYoungDaddy just told jared directly. Jared tells the other owner vvoww. ("Person A" was a sort of combination of vvoww and ItsYoungDaddy) They both come to me because I write the plugins for macrochasm and I realize pretty quickly that this isn't a bug in his handshake code for macrochasm, but a bug in mojang's auth for any server. The "leakiness" mentioned in the explanation is that vvoww was tagging everyone in macrochasm discord saying that you can login to any account with this just like the handshake exploit we needed to patch before. Since they thought this was a bug in my macro plugins, they were being really loud about it. ItsYoungDaddy also leaked the client he was using and exactly how to use it to bypass macro auth. allright... I thought abpout this and like people, who knew about it beforehand, told me I thought about it about a million times over but basically came to the same conclusion. Everyone had to decide on their own accord and that is why I asked the people, that I told in advance not to tell anyone else. Also this vote wasnt about me and I never wanted to make it about me. I don’t feel like being a spawnmason is for me anymore. As more people joined, it’s become more difficult to get to know everyone well and as a consequence trust has become sparse. The original idea of a tight-knit group of friends which I joined for has been lost and it seems like everyone is only becoming more divided as time goes on. There are people in this group who hardly talk or play with anyone else even though they’re active on 2b2t and you wonder why we even have them here. No one is ever going to come to trust people like this because no one knows them. Moreover, the whole summermelon griefing ordeal and how it’s been handled by the worshipfuls has really pissed me off. Despite 20 out of the 24 votes on the strawpoll being to kick alpha/fit, neither fit nor alpha actually got kicked out of the group for good. What they did totally shattered the idea of the spawnmasons being a brotherhood of players who are friendly to one another and you let them get away with it, showing that it doesn’t matter if you totally backstab another spawnmason. I remained in the group after wanting to leave 3 days ago because I was hoping things would get better and someone had the balls to kick alpha but not fit. 3 days later and you’ve literally undone the one thing that prevented me from being outraged. Despite all this, I’d be remiss in not acknowledging that I had some of my most enjoyable moments on 2b2t among the spawnmasons. I’ve met and gotten to know so many people through the group and it’s been a pleasure to be part of the ranks. I’ll try not to lose contact with you all completely. Cya'

Ok, I don't have much of a stake in this group anymore but I would like to remind people of 2 very important things on how it used to be done: The group itself is not the only thing a player may associate with in 2b. Meaning some of the people may be with us and yet still be super mayor asshats to others. If someone breaches trust to the point of harming a brother then it is an issue, until then? it's their own god damn business. Worshipfuls are not dictators, people do have a voice, however, if people can't come into an agreement or if the whole thing is controversial, then action is taken on what the leaders think is the best thing for the group. Unilaterally. Especially because as todarac said, this is a spawn mason V1 problem, not because people can't vote, but because people can get really heated about things, so if a choice is obious but people have hang ups, sometimes it was simpler to just bulldoze through come what may. Don't know if that is the case anymore, but guys, seriously, we ain't aiming at ESL proleague finals. It's a group, calm down and let people fuck around. I think I've said everything that I could have possibly say in regards to the topics discussed, so I will try to wrap up my part: I'm willing to move on from the whole exploit fiasco even if the trust is definitely broken and try to work around it, if at least SOME effort is put into place to try and prevent things like this happening in the future. In regards to the other issues I brought up originally, I'm totally on board with having a worshipful rotation similar to the applicant council rotation if the details of the rotation are set up in a transparent and democratic way.
