gonna get high later though
I hope with the new changes to the server, that communication will be alot more reliable from the administrative side.
The New Website: New website coming soon (REAL)
First things first, the new website: it feels very inviting compared to the past image(s) the Administration team had presented in the past.
There are some design / placement tweeks I would do though.
For example having a feed for posts / and or changes and updates (Possibly an additional tab for it): ie. instead of having to scroll down the whole page to read a post, add another scroll bar to the server updates. Additionally, underneath the "2builders2tools; old server" box, should be another box with a preview to the About page for longer attention span & interest of the website. Lastly, I would suggest a Commenting option, but seeing how having one ended in the past, it's most likely unnecessary.
I really enjoy the overall more professional image that the administration has been showing lately.
"The server has updated to version 1.19!": Thoughts on the post
The opening to this post is very nice, and it feels extremely promising!!!
Now, the "Soft item economy reset": Help me understand the intent behind these decisions.
The server has been community driven for over a decade, and has been long advertised with a "Hands-off" approach to Administration. I understand the Reasoning on paper, but in practice I believe some of these changes will be some of the server's make it or break it type thing with its long-time standing playerbase.
I feel that the mass reduction of duped items will be a serious off-put for most players, BOTH old AND new.
The reason why I say this is because whenever I speak to a new player in the chat messages, they're always excited to be able to find their first ever "dupe stash." The size alone of the server has always been a major buying point for new players, this WITH THE FACT of basehunting, building, joining groups, and making a "name" for yourself on the server. I believe this change will greatly diminish the incentive to explore and search for stashes, and items.
Old chunk trimming
My thoughts on this section may be a bit missguided because I don't know much about the technical jargon of a server this size.
When It comes to these types of chunks, I Personally as a base hunter on the server believe that getting rid of these chunks will make some basehunting alot harder. Many large, unfound bases had been placed at the end of some of these chunk trails. It really bums me out knowing that the possibility of finding some of these bases will not become practically impossible.
That's everything I felt I had to address about the post.
Overall, I like the update finally coming to the server, but some of the decisions that the Administration team have declared in this post makes me worry for the server's future success. Many Anarchy players don't play servers that involve grinding. That's one of the major appeals to anarchy.
I'm worried about the server's image and how its presentation will change over time. Many players are longing for the old "hands off approach" that was so glorified in 2b2t's past.
