Spawnmasons: A History of Abuse
For several years, the Spawnmasons of 2b2t have been regarded as the
strongest and most prestigious group on the server. They hold the
majority of wealth and are responsible for some of the most extreme
exploits on the server. This reputation has been quietly abused over the
past four years to commit some of the most mind numbingly irresponsible
and gross actions that have occurred on the server. This includes but is
not limited to: several members meeting a minor in real life and taking
her to separate location ALONE, sharing inappropriate sexual messages
about children (many being about lowering the age of consent) in private
channels that are accessible by other children, and using their
extensive stolen wealth to entice the community to look past their
behavior by offering free items to those who are in their good
graces.
Their manipulatory tactics and sickening behaviors have not gone
unnoticed though. Several members of the spawnmasons have left as a
result of the controversies, and one in particular has decided to spend
the year rising the ranks in order to take them down once and for all.
As someone who works around children herself, she takes particular
personal issue with the problems evident in the group and has made it
her mission to help The Fifth Column (a rival griefing group known for
exposing these indecencies in the past) dismantle the structures that
keep the Spawnmasons in power. The following are some of the most
egregious instances over the past four years.
- The Enticement of a Minor to Meet in Real Life
- In January of 2021, a meetup was arranged in the Spawnmasons
discord. Meetups like this are not uncommon, but the part that makes
this one unique is that a member of this meetup was in fact a 15 year
old girl.
- The meetup was arranged by MrPint for several masons to come to a
band show that he was performing in. The members invited included:
ufocrossing, Henry, Nemac, and RainAura.
- The major issue with this series of events is the inconsistencies
that exist between different participants of the meetup. Ufo and Henry
state that Rain saw the meetup information in the Spawnmason discord,
while Pint PROVES that he personally invited each member individually,
including RainAura.
- Another glaring issue is the inconsistency of whether RainAura was
dropped off by her parents or whether they stayed to chaperone. The most
consistently repeated series of events is that they dropped her off and
that she spent an extended amount of time with Pint and Ufo alone.
- This leads into another major issue because now there is an extended
period of time where these 25 year old men met a 15 year old girl from
the internet and spent time with her alone. It sets a dangerous example
for others in this community, where there have been several instances of
misbehavior in the past.
- When confronted with this event, these members vehemently mock,
deny, and attempt to rewrite the facts of the situation. There is
extreme pressure for other members in the group to echo the same
sentiment under the guise of “bad faith”, which is a term used by the
masons to belittle any arguments that are even slightly contradictory to
their point of view or self interests. They amplify false narratives
that make their dissenters sound disingenuous and inflammatory by
claiming that they are being “explicitly called pedophiles just because
they met a minor” when that is simply untrue. Here are some examples of
that tactic (making concerned players sound more radical for the sake of
playing victim) below:
- The crux of the issue is that they decided wholeheartedly to engage
in a physical meetup with a girl who is underage and continued to spend
time with her alone. It sets a dangerous precedent for the community
when a group with this much influence engages in such acts, regardless
of the actual circumstances. The masons even acknowledged this in their
“apology” for the situation which was made in the reddit comments of a
buried post.
- Despite Entropy’s apology, several masons (including those
specifically involved in the event) continue to make jokes and mock the
situation in private. They lack any sincere remorse for their actions
behind closed doors and are only regretful that people outside of their
circle found out about it.
- The Sharing of Inappropriate Sexual Dialogue Regarding Minors
Towards Minors
- After getting several downloads of logs from the Spawnmasons private
discord, it has been revealed that many inappropriate conversations
about lowering the age of consent, rape, lolicon, and pedophilia were
sent in the company of minors that were present in these chats. The main
proprietors of these topics being ufocrossing (who met up with RainAura)
, Todarac, and leijurv.
- To this day, the masons continue to recruit minors into the group
despite the type of subject matter that is being shared in their private
channels. Sometimes these children even participate in the
discussions.
- Henry, former leader of the spawnmasons who joined the group when he
was a child, would go on to point out instances (such as when Todarac
posted a BDSM test and RainAura discussed replying with her results)
where these conversations crossed the line only to be met with ridicule
from Todarac who claimed he was acting like a “puritan grandma”.
- After leaking some of these messages to the wider community, their
response was not regret over the messages sent, but rather disdain that
someone in their ranks would dare to leak information on them.
Conversation would range from accusations to assassination of character
to general paranoia, everything except genuine remorse.
- The Mental Abuse and Cult Mentality
- Over time, the Spawnmasons have accrued a large amount of clout from
the countless videos made by large Minecraft youtubers chronicling their
exploits on 2b2t. This reputation has been an integral stepping stone in
the expectations that they have for new members joining the group.
- The spawnmasons have become a group that prioritizes bringing in
members that do not question their authority and that devote several
hours a week to keeping their infrastructure active. Opinions that
contradict the narratives presented by high ranking members are met with
ridicule and accusations of “bad faith” arguments.
- “Bad faith” is a term misused by the masons to belittle valid issues
such as those listed above. It is continuously weaponized against even
their own members to keep people in line with their views and to prevent
anyone speaking out (which would effectively make them look weak).
- This doesn’t stop everyone though. Members such as WarlordN1K and
Enigma were pushed out of the group following the IHOP controversy
because they felt a personal moral conflict with what had happened. To
this day, they are the subject of scrutiny and vicious rumors for daring
to “break the oath”.
- Another example is SalC1, who briefly alluded to the incident in his
video covering the grief of Skymasons as an explanation for why a
certain member at the time leaked the coordinates of the base. He was
removed from the group as members took offense that he would even
slightly mention the incident whatsoever, even though he mentioned no
names, nor anything specific at all (despite it genuinely being the
reason the base was leaked, they were outraged that he didn’t jeopardize
his journalistic integrity on their behalf).
- Currently, our insider has faced serious adversity in terms of
pleasing many members of the group, helping to build lodges on time, and
making sure to put aside countless hours to remain constantly active.
Despite doing an impeccable job at all the above, she still faced
scrutiny from Todarac when she jokingly said that “the Masons are toxic”
in VC whilst building a lodge with him and his reply was that she
“needed to mute and start placing blocks faster” in a sudden aggressive
manner which brought her to tears. The pressure on newer members to
perform and not question their authority is intentionally mentally
tiring to the point that these micro-aggressions can cause serious harm
to those that emotionally involve themselves in keeping the group
afloat.
- Even outside of the group, they use their items stolen from the
Randar exploit as a bargaining chip for desperate players to overlook
their past issues. The Grants Program was created as a way to give out
items for free to players that stay in the Masons’ good graces and as
previously stated, even questioning the inappropriate events that have
taken place puts you in their bad graces. As a result of this
manipulation, the building community has largely chosen to overlook
these actions for the sake of getting free block game items.
